Did you know that Webdesign is MORE than just page-appearance on your monitor? It involves placement, colors, fonts, graphics, content, and links—all controlled by the script behind the scene. The code. The HTML (HyperText Markup Language) that tells each browser receiving it what colors, fonts and graphic images to use, where to place them, makes hyperlinks work AND alerts the search engine robots ("spiders") that crawl the web to list your page (or not... as you desire!). Good design also addresses the speed, content and navigation of your Site.
Web site basics: Creating a web presence (Website) requires three basic things:
   • a registered domain name
   • suitable webhost space (server to hold your pages for 24/7 accessibility)
   • prepared web pages and graphics for uploading
Do I still doWeb Design? Yes, I still design and hand-code a few Web sites, but only for those who want to keep their costs down and don't require e-commerce shopping baskets and such. No WYSIWYG or "cookie-cutter" sites here, and you can be sure that sufficient meta tags, websafe colors, hyperlinks, proper image preparation will be employed, with a focus on speed, navigation and content. If you're wanting good solid Web design at an affordable price, contact me.
